Depression

Depression is far more than occasional sadness or a tough day—it’s a persistent, overwhelming sense of emptiness, hopelessness, or numbness that can touch every aspect of your life. You might wake up feeling drained, no matter how much you’ve slept, lose interest in activities that once brought you joy, or struggle to focus, make decisions, or even get out of bed. For some, depression feels like a heavy fog that never lifts; for others, it’s a profound sense of disconnection from yourself and the world around you.

One of the most challenging aspects of depression is the way it distorts your thoughts, convincing you that things will never improve, that you’re a burden, or that your pain isn’t real or important. You may feel ashamed for not being able to “snap out of it,” or guilty about how your mood impacts those you care about. It can be an incredibly isolating experience, especially when it seems like no one else can see the storm you’re weathering inside.

But you don’t have to navigate this alone. Therapy provides a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can make sense of your feelings, gently challenge your inner critic, and begin to rebuild a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. There is a way forward—even if it’s hard to see right now—and healing is absolutely possible.
