Anxiety

A natural human response to stress, uncertainty, or perceived threats, anxiety is your body’s built-in alarm system—often referred to as the “fight or flight” response—preparing you to face challenges head-on. In moderation, anxiety can be useful, sharpening your focus and keeping you alert. However, when anxiety becomes constant, overwhelming, or triggered by everyday situations, it can start to disrupt your daily life, strain relationships, and erode your sense of well-being.

Anxiety can manifest in many ways: racing thoughts, a persistent sense of dread, physical symptoms like a pounding heart or tightness in the chest, and a tendency to overthink or avoid situations. You might find yourself lying awake at night, replaying conversations, worrying about what’s ahead, or feeling a knot in your stomach without knowing exactly why. If anxiety is taking up more space in your life than you’d like, know that you’re not alone—and it doesn’t have to stay this way. Therapy provides a supportive environment to explore the roots of your anxiety, develop effective coping strategies, and reconnect with a calmer, more grounded version of yourself.
